Our Story
On September 4, 2022, After The Storm, Incorporated was established as a non-profit organization with the office of the Georgia Secretary of State. Marsha Sanders, Founder and Chief Executive Officer saw the vision for the organization after overcoming the challenges that life continuously stormed her way.
In 1996, Sanders encountered a life of many struggles, setbacks, and disappointments as a troubled young African American woman who grew up poor living in the housing projects. Sanders was a victim of abuse and felt like no one cared about her life or well-being. Sanders was at a place in her life where she just wanted to give up as she felt that there was no way of escape and survival was not realized. Therefore, she continued to submerge in the crime and poverty that encompassed her environment.
After ending up at a dead-end street and being incarcerated, Sanders began to study the bible and believe that she could do all things through Jesus Christ who strengthens her. The Word of God gave Sanders hope, and she started believing in herself and changed from negative to positive. After much time passed, she was given a vision. Sanders began to write that vision down and before long she began to walk by faith and not by sight. The vision became a reality as the vision became her life.
With the blessings of God, Sanders has helped many people. To show her gratitude to God for protecting her through all the storms she has faced in life, Sanders has dedicated her life to serving others.
